  Description:
Pole Star® Snowcruiser
‘The best solution to the worst conditions’

POLE STAR IS A RANGE OF HIGH QUALITY WINTER SAFETY BOOTS FOR EXTREME CLIMATE.

Those boots have been developed to withstand:
a) The hardest conditions of work (CE standard EN 344-345, S4-S5).
b) The most extreme climate conditions (up to –50°C).

Pole Star is made of:

1) CRYOFLEX® outer boot

• The material : thanks to the Gaston MILLE research this material has been tested to insure resistance and flexibility in very low temperature and to fulfill the conditions of the European standard EN 344-345 following S4 and S5,
• The design : for a maximum protection and comfort ; large arch support, reversed deep cleaned sole profile to give the best grip on ice and snow,
• A very large fitting toe-cap (extra large) to allow the best comfort and space for your feet including the 7 mm inner boot.
• Walkontan®: patented, this polyurethane innersole, thick of 5 mm, is embedded in CRYOFLEX® outer sole. It is a real cushion providing a very good insulation and softness. The Walkontan® also fills up the heel and provides a perfect “Shock Absorber”.
• Options: a Kevlar® antiperforation insole, a heating assistant system which is used as a first aid heating. In case of accident, a resistance placed under your toes and a battery incorporated in the heel, provides heating.

2) DRYTEX® removable inner boot

This inner boot is the combination of 5 different materials, which put together, ensures a very high thermal insulation. The performances of this inner boot has been proved and tested by the IFTH Laboratory in Lyon. The classification of thermal insulation can be compared with the highest standard of winter gloves available on the market (cat.4).

DRYTEX® removable inner boot is fitted with large Velcro strap. It can be used as an indoor slipper. It is also washable at 40°. For any other information please, report to the technical form DRYTEX®.

3) CUIRNEIGE® Leather and Cordura® uppers

3 declinations of boots are offered to answer to the different conditions of work and climate.
• Ankle boot: laced up, made of CUIRNEIGE® leather and CORDURA®.
• Half boot: made of hot lined CUIR-NEIGE® and CORDURA®. Laced up with large below tongue and Velcro tightened, upper with lamb wool “stop snow system”.
• High boot: with or without lace; made of CUIRNEIGE® leather and CORDURA®. Fitted with an adjustable “stop snow system” in CORDURA®.
CUIRNEIGE®: produced by the French BCS tannery. This leather has been experienced with success in South Pole expeditions.
It provides:
• very good thermal resistance.
• high resistance to ice and rock scratches.
• high water resistance penetration and high water absorption. It has been tested : at more than 7 hours (standard 1 hour) with less than 30% penetration (standard : 30% after 30 minutes).
• very good vapor permeability (8mg/cm3 hour).
